Good News For Gurgaon, Rroads Repairs In 3 Months At A Cost of Rs 92 Crores

If Minister of state for defence, Rao Inderjeet Singh, is to be believed then all Gurgaon roads will be in prime conditions in the next three months. The roads will be repaired at a cost of Rs 92 crores and Gurgaon Municipal Corporation will spend Rs 10 crore per month for their upkeep.

This was disclosed by the Union defence production minister of state, Rao Inderjeet Singh at a Press conference in Gurgaon on Friday. He also inspected the roads of Gurgaon and took first hand knowledge of the condition of the roads here.

The Union minister revealed that HUDA would spend Rs 7.5 crore on repair and reconstruction of Sheetla Mata road, Rs 9 crore on the road from sector 5 chowk to Palam Vihar, Rs 6 crore on Mahavir Chowk to Atul Kataria Chowk road, Rs 8.5 crore on Mahavir Chowk-MDI-IFFCO Chowk road, Rs 2 crore on Sohna road, Rs 1.5 crore on Pataudi road, Rs 3.5 crore on Basai road. Similarly, PWD (B&R) department would incur Rs 20 lakh on repair of village Sarhaul raod, Rs 12 crore for constructing five foot over bridges on NH-8, Rs 20 crore on repair of New Railway road and bus stand road, Rs 20 crore on the road from Mor Chowk to Jail road and from Aggresein chowk to Mor Chowk, Rs 1.6 crore on repair of old railway road.

Rao Inderjeet also called upon the Haryana chief minister to take action against officials responsible for poor maintenance of roads. He also wanted to know the reasons why the roads, which were repaired last year were in poor shape.

The Union minister also demanded a development agency for Gurgaon and told that the Haryana government had constituted a three member committee under the chairmanship of MLA Karan Singh Dalal for studying its scope.

Gurgaon officials inspect roads, set deadlines

Due to constant pressure from residents of Gurgaon, a team of city's top administrators went out to inspect roads on September 22. The divisional commissioner set a deadline to repair and construct roads effectively.

Under Pressure from all quarters for the poor condition of roads in the millennium city, the entire Gurgaon administration led by the divisional commissioner toured the city on Monday (September 22) to inspect the condition of the roads.

Gurgaon divisional commissioner DPS Nagal and deputy commissioner, Deepti Umashankar, along with team of officers inspected roads of Gurgaon city for five hours on Monday. Majority of the roads, which Nagal and Umashankar inspected were in pathetic condition and they belong to the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).

The divisional commissioner asked the officials to repair and construct roads and asked why they have not started the repair work till now despite the clear cut instructions given to them at the high-level meetings held in Gurgaon last month.
