Five choreographers belonging to different nationalities will collaborate to produce, `Ek Minute', a dance collage based on their impressions of the National Capital Territory of Delhi for the World Dance Day at Alliance Francaise here on April 26. The proceeds from this performance will be donated to the Special Olympics Delhi Chapter, which provides sports training and competition for mentally-challenged individuals.
The dance collage promises to weave a rich variety of styles of each of the five artistes. According to the organisers, the collage will have gestures and elements ranging from Chhau to Capoiera, classical ballet to Kathak and contact improvisation to Salsa.
All the five choreographers, Briar Chatterjea (USA), Gilles Chuyen (France), Gloria Gregoria Gonzalez (Cuba), Himani Khurana (India) and Hollving Argaez Piazana are living in their chosen home - Delhi.
The special show promises to reflect the soul of the historical city through their choreography.
