The Haryana Urban Development Authority, which is providing public utility services to the people in the state, hopes to earn a revenue of Rs 80 crores in the next five years.
According to S P Gupta, Gurgaon Administrator, HUDA, the authority has taken a lead in the allotment of public utility services and some items are outsourced for this purpose.
He said that public utilities, hoardings and various types of advertisements were running in an unauthorised way since a long time.
Some advertising agencies had even succeeded in getting stay orders from different courts.
"However, on the directions of state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the cases were taken up and all stays were vacated by the Supreme Court," Gupta said.
For the first time in the state, almost all public utility services have been outsourced and the expenditure will be borne by private advertisement agencies, Gupta said.
He said world class facilities will be provided to the public at no cost of the department.
