Where are the good chaat and golgappa places in Gurgaon?

Hi,

I am looking for good chaat and golgappa places around Gurgaon. I want the REAL stuff, not the Delhi'ised version of tikki where they stuff it with every dry fruit possible.

Similarly the golgappa guy should have Imli paani (instead of Amchoor or Jaljeera powder), Spicy Masala and Shells made of Aata not Suji.

I would be eternally grateful to the person who points me to such a place!

try truly bengali type golgappas as u explain the type at main sadar bazar gurgaon beside archies gallary

Try Golgappas & Tikki at Samrat Bakery, opposite Sahara Mall. There is a Market opposite Sahara mall...I think its called Central Arcade (Iam not sure though). Ask for Samrat Bakery there. its a very old shop with good stuff. They have nice patties too.

Bikanerwala ,Haldirams in malls

I recently had gol gappas at Sweets Corner in DLF Phase 1, a place my cousin had recommended. I believe this is a place worth trying for gol gappas. Theyhave other stuff also but I went back the second time for gol gappas only.

Oh, also I had the chance to have dinner at Punjabi by Nature in DLF. What a hyped up, no good place! The service was poor. The table we had was in an area where there was little or no AC. When we asked the waiter, he stated that he was fine with temp and just ingnored what we said. I walked away having paid multiple thousands of rupees for average food, very poor wine selection and poor service. Nope, won't be going back for seconds to this place.

Golgappaz are one contrived concoction to titillate the palate.

They are up there with Mars bar pakodas

I have, however, struggled with the right technique to consume one...

When the golgappa bursts and the paani escapes...rushing to meet ones uvula...I always get this paroxysmal cough...and the fear of this reflex keeps me from enjoying these fragile pods.

Please advise how you eat yours...

It seems the merchants of Gurgaon either feel business of selling golgappas in Gurgaon is not profitable or golgappas are not good for the health of Gurgaon residents. Delhi is a different story.

Try Chatak Chaat at Spencer Hyper store at MGF Mrgacity mall - they have all that you are looking for.

Chatak chaat is the closest to what I am looking for. They have a bunch of stalls at Sahara Mall, at Spencers, Galleria etc, but I found the Spencers one to be the best. He can also make Jhalmudhi.
He is not upto the CR Park kind of golgappas, but seems to be the best in the Gurgaon area.

You can try shops at Bijwasan Village outside Palam Vihar.

In normal words, Gurgaon doesn't have a good Golgapps and Tikki shops in whole city ( Whether it is sector 14 , sector 17 , sector 56 , Sector 4 and sadar bazar, sushant lok).

Prepration of all of them are below the standard ( If you are from Chandni Chowk , Ghaziabad , Meerut side). All of them prepared tikki Delhi style.

Although I found near to standard ( Just 50-55%) 2 shops only ( One is Krishna Sweets near Reliance Fresh , Jacobpura , Sadar Bazar) and another shop ( It is mobile shop) in Sadar Bazar next cut from Baksha Sweets.

You can compromize on tikki and golgappa at Sushant Lok Market ( Near Chiken Shop).

Hi Suman,

If you really want the real stuff, I suggest you try Sector 56 Huda Market Car Parking. There is one something called as Sharma Chat Bhandar. The guy is from I suppose, Mathura/Agra and he gives real delicious taste of tikki n golgappa you will love to have. I used to live in that area and he was quite famous around (am talking of 1 yr back.Not sure present status though).

Rememeber he has an independent thela which he uses to server & make in the CAR PARKING area.

My friend tried Sharmas tikki. He said the tikki was pretty good and definetly worth a try. However, he doesn't use Imli paani for golgappas. He uses amchoor instead.

u can try the golgappaas n all that stuff in gurgaon's sector 14 market, its an evergreen market with a good crowd all the time ..

sometimes i also love to hangout over there ...

I didn't find anyone who was good Om, Sham, Nathu, Agarwal, everyone else are not good.
There used be a guy who made awesome golgappas in Sector 14 - just outside Punjabi Hut (in the lower half of sector 14 market). However, he disappeared 2 years ago and I have not not been able to trace him since then.
