Gurgaon, rejoice. The roads are set to get better. In a recent order, Financial Commissioner, HUDA (Urban Development and Town Planning), D S Dhesi has instructed agencies like HUDA, Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon and the PWD to repair roads across the city.
Dhesi has also deputed a chief engineer to HUDA's Gurgaon office. A senior official at the district administration office said: "For expenditure up to Rs 4 crore, a chief engineer needs to sanction the amount after it is passed by the government. For projects costing more, civic agencies need approval from the state government directly."
Pankaj Kumra, HUDA Superintending Engineer, said: "There was a general discussion on the work in progress and a future plan of action." MCG commissioner Rajeev Sharma said he was unaware of the discussion that took place in the meeting.
