Work On a Metro line for Faridabad and Ballabhgarh may start from the next financial year .With that, Faridabad would become the second NCR town after Gurgaon to get Metro rail connectivity The Haryana government has stipulated Rs 1 crore for conducting a feasibility study on the Metro project from Faridabad to Ballabhgarh. Once that happens, Faridabad would also get connected with Delhi, as the proposed line will have a link with Delhi Metro line at the Badarpur border.
The Haryana government expressed its desire to start work on the project by proposing Rs one crore for a feasibility study Notably, the Planning Commission has approved the annual plan of Haryana at Rs 6,656 crore. It includes central assistance of Rs 100 crore.

Haryana is also looking to address complaints of citizens that there is very little transport connectivity between different National Capital Region towns with those in Haryana. The government has earmarked some money to work on a project for a quick intercity mass rapid transport system for NCR towns. It can be a mix of bus and rail transport systems, a government official said.
