The Gurgaon Police is devising a mechanism for all its police stations and posts to ensure follow up of all complaints including those not registered in the daily diary report or not converted into first information reports (FIRs). With this, all the complaints would be electronically registered at the online computerised system and can be accessed by senior police officials.
For this, the department is getting a software program prepared for close monitoring of even verbal complaints, the police said. Until now, only FIRs are keyed into the computerised network.
Gurgaon police commissioner Mohinder Lal said his department was working on a software program for closely following up each and every complaint.
"The idea is to make the police department responsive to every kind of grievance. We are also look- ing into the reasons as to why a person had to visit a police station and whether the police sincerely worked hard to act on the complaints," Lal said at a gathering of industrialists at the annual general meeting of IMT Industrial Association in Manesar recently .
Lal said his department has been working on this software for six months and it would take little more time to complete and implement at police stations and posts in Gurgaon.
