The Haryana Tourism Corporation has achieved a record turnover of Rs 188.02 crore in 2007-08 as against the turnover of Rs 171.69 crore in 2006-07, thus showing an increase of Rs 16.33 crore.
Similarly, the record net profit for the year that ended on March 31, is Rs 5 crore, as against the net profit of Rs 3.22 crore in the year that ended on March 31, 2007, thus showing an increase of Rs 1.78 crore. Similarly, the occupancy during 2007-08 was 79 per cent as against the occupancy of 76 per cent during 2006-07.
With the ongoing renovation, furnishing and upgradation of the tourist complexes, it is expected that Haryana Tourism would achieve a record turnover and profitability during the current year.
As an incentive to celebrate the birth of a girl child and to encourage the participation of women, 15 per cent discount on food at all the Haryana Tourism restaurants has been allowed for kitty parties and birthday celebrations of a girl child. This will encourage families to visit and hold social functions at the tourist complexes. Further, those incharge of the complexes have also been asked to arrange a package for birthday and kitty parties.
