The Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) has proposed to levy tax on the parking lots raised unauthorisedly by factory owners and corporate houses on the green belts belonging to the municipal body The MCG has drafted a policy in this regard to be put up before the House for approval.
The green belts outside hundreds of industries have been converted into parking lots without paying anything to the municipal body.
The draft policy provides for allowing these commercial establishments, factories and corporate houses to use the MCF green belt for parking purpose but at a cost.

If approved by the House, the MCF will charge 5 paise per sq yd per day for the green belt converted into a parking lot.
MCF Commissioner R. K. Khullar, discussed the issue of unauthorised parking on MCF green belts with various departmenta1heads threadbare. He was of the view that the acquisition of green belts belonging to the municipal body by the companies is doing more harm than good.
