Eligibility Test For Haryana Teachers Approved By Haryana Cabinet

The Haryana Cabinet on Monday approved the Education Department's proposal to amend the service rules for teaching categories by introducing a School Teachers Eligibility Test (STET).
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said this was being done to improve the quality of education in the State. With STET, only the best teachers would be recruited in Government Schools which would have a far-reaching impact on the growth and development of human resources in the State.
The Cabinet decided to constitute a committee to look into the functioning of primary agricultural cooperative societies in the larger interests of the farming community.
The committee would comprise Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Revenue), Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Cooperation), Registrar, Cooperative Societies and Managing Director, HAFED.

The Cabinet also approved taking out 23 posts of Senior Medical Officers HCMS-I from the purview of the Haryana Public Service Commission. It approved amendment of the Haryana Health Department non-Medical, Laboratory (Group-B), State Service Rules,1998, and the Laboratory Technician (Group C) Service Rules, 1998.
Aid for kin of deceased
The Cabinet decided to grant with retrospective effect assistance to the dependents of the deceased Group A and B government employees on compassionate grounds under Rule 2006, as enshrined under Article 309 of the Constitution.
It approved amendments to the Punjab Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioner (General) Rules, 1964, on the recommendation of a Vidhan Sabha Committee to update the language of the rules and registration fee charged by the Haryana Board of Ayurvedic and Unani System of Medicine.
The registration fee has been raised from Rs.150 to Rs.2,500.The fee for renewal of registration has been raised from Rs.200 to Rs.300 and the fee for entries in register regarding further qualification has been raised from Rs.5 to Rs.100.
The issue of duplicate registration certificate fee has been raised from Rs.2 to Rs.150. The fee for supply of certified copy has been raised from 75 paisa per 100 or fraction thereof subject to a minimum of Re.1 and Rs. 2 has been raised to Rs.100 and Rs.200.
Land revenue rules
The Cabinet also decided to amend the Punjab Land Revenue Rules, 1909, framed under the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887, on the recommendation of the Subordinate Legislation Committee of the Vidhan Sabha to bring them in conformity with the changed requirements of the time. The obsolete portions have been deleted.
Thanks to the amendment, any person wishing to obtain a copy of revenue record would be able to obtain it from the computer centres set up at Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils and from such other centres set up or notified by the State Government at the rate fixed by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Revenue.
