Westin Sohna, the first Westin property in India (which was opened in December '07), is now being promoted as a business hotel. Although the property has been known as a spa resort so far, the management has decided to make a few changes to the existing structure.
During a discussion with Hospitality Biz, San Amalan, General Manager, Westin - Sohna Gurgaon said, "We are on the verge of undertaking certain changes to the Westin Sohna resort. It opened as a spa resort, but considering the resort's proximity from New Delhi and Gurgaon, we plan to promote it as a corporate and MICE resort."
The resort will now target the Meetings, Incentive, Corporate and Exhibition (MICE) market during the mid week. It will target the Free Individual Travellers (FIT) segment during weekends. Westin Sohna is also offering several FIT-focused packages for the spa and overnight stays.
