Develop NCR Ring Road, NCR Ring Rail In Outer Areas of NCR: Vardhan

Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday said that if Delhi is to be saved from becoming a slum then the Central Government, Delhi Government and NCR Planning Board should together start the construction of NCR Ring Road and NCR Ring Rail in outer areas of NCR.
Vardhan said that by 2021 the population of Delhi would increase to two crore and seventy five lakh. "At present about five lakh migrants come and permanently settle in Delhi every year. No land is left for residential and commercial purposes. People from other parts of the country come to Delhi in search of employment. After getting employment then plan to permanently settle in Delhi, which is natural. Listening to the case regarding Master Plan 2021, the Supreme Court has asked the Delhi and Central Governments to curb the increase of population in Delhi. Such schemes should be framed which may decentralise the population of Delhi," Vardhan said in a Press statement on Tuesday.
He added that the basic objective of NCR Scheme was to decentralise the concentration of the population of Delhi to NCR areas. "It is unfortunate that the Delhi Congress Government and Central Government did not think seriously about developing the NCR and act on it. The result is before us. Delhi is gradually becoming a slum. If the NCR areas are connected with NCR Ring Road then new residential areas and industrial areas will develop on both sides of the newly constructed Ring Road. New migrants would prefer to live in the residential areas around in the NCR," said Vardhan.

He also told that there is also need of constructing NCR Ring Rail in parallel to the NCR Ring Road so that the traffic and goods transport destined to NCR areas may terminate outside Delhi. "If it happens then the entry of about seven lakh vehicles from outside States in Delhi will be stopped. Lakhs of people would get employment when the NCR Ring Road and NCR Ring Rail are started. The objective of NCR will be realised.
He told that now the time has come when rising above politics concrete action and active efforts should be made for a developed, safe, happy and prosperous Delhi and NCR," he added.
