Roads in Sector 34 are full of pudd1es. Water logging at the Hero Honda Chowk, the entrance to the sector from National Highway-8, gives a glimpse of the sordid state inside the sector.
Poor planning and the absence of basic infrastructure have worsened the plight of those working in companies housed in the sector.  The vacant plot between the Hero Honda unit in the sector and the service road running along NH-8 looks like a pond of dirty water. Water has even flooded the service lane. Traffic movement is affected but no action has been taken so far Those familiar with the sector say that water has been stagnating on the plot for the last one month. "The stench emanating from it is unbearable. It has become a breeding ground for all sorts of insects and infections but the authorities have made little effort to drain out the water," complained a shopkeeper The mess at the Hero Honda Chowk is only an indication of the pathetic conditions prevailing inside Sector 34. "They do not even look like roads. They are all submerged, only potholes full of water are left. As a result, driving inside the sector is impossible. This despite the fact the sector generates so much revenue," complained Santosh Pathak, who works as a team leader in one of the companies.
But it is not the end of road related trouble for those who work or stay in Sector 34. The traffic emerging from Sector 34 is not allowed to take a right turn and cross over to NH-8 at the Hero Honda Chowk. This has been done in order to make NH-8 free of signals but for the traffic emerging from Sector 34, it means a detour of about 15 km or approximately a five km drive on the wrong side. "If I want go towards Delhi from Sector 34, I have to drive about seven km in the opposite direction, cross over NH-8 and then drive another seven km to reach Hero Honda Chowk before actually driving towards my destination. In order to save on the distance, people often take the risk of driving on the wrong side of the service lane. We have to pay the price for poor planning on the part of civic agencies," complained Mayank Gupta, whose office is located in Sector 34. By: Hindustan Times's Live, July-03-2008
