On the persistent demand of various industries associations, the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) has constituted a committee to work out the modalities for the regularisation of seven residential colonies that are to have mixed land use.
The committee has to submit its report by July 28 for approval by the MCF House before it is sent to the government for approval.
MCF Commissioner R. K. Khullar has constituted a committee for the purpose. It comprises Senior Town Planner, S. C. Kush, the joint commissioners and executive engineers of all the three MCF zones - Old Faridabad, New Industrial Township and Ballabgarh. He also made it clear that the committee members should involve the representatives of various industries associations in their respective areas while conducting the survey.
Since Faridabad is an industrial city with small industrial units spread across the city, various industries associations had been demanding regularisation of the colonies where these units have been running as an industrial area.
They have been demanding regularisation of seven residential areas in the city on the pattern of Karkhana Bagh in Old Faridabad, on the basis of the density of industrial units. The colonies include Krishna Nagar, Indira Nagar opposite YMCA, new industrial area of DLF Industrial Area, Sanjay Colony, Saroorpur, Neighbourhood3 B Block and Indira Gandhi Nagar across Agra Canal.
Faridabad Small Industries Association president Rajive Chawla, Manufacturers Association, Faridabad, general secretary Ramneek Prabhakar and Laghu Udyog Bharti president M. E Rungta held several rounds of talks with the MCF commissioners, including Khullar with regard to regularisation. "After the survey is completed, we will put it up before the House for approval in August. If the House approves it, we will forward it to the government for consideration," said Khullar.
