Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said 5 per cent residential plots in all urban estates developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) have been reserved for lawyers.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing members of the District Bar Association and Judges in Kurukshetra today, was referring to the demand of the Bar Association for providing land for residential purposes. He said the state government had formulated a policy in this regard and residential plots have been reserved for them.
He urged the lawyers to charge nominal fee from the poor so they are not deprived of justice. Hooda announced that a sum of Rs 5 lakh would be given for the Bar Association library out of discretionary fund of the Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha.
Chander Mani, a senior member of the Bar Association presented a book of Bhagwad Gita to Hooda and Mahender Singh Tanwar, president of the Bar Association gave a memento to Hooda, Naveen Jindal and Harmohinder Singh Chatha on behalf of the Bar Association.
The CM also released a telephone directory of the Bar Association on the occasion.
