The Haryana Roadways has increased the bus fares on certain routes between Rs 2 and 10. This was done owing to the imposition of new toll taxes at Panipat and Gurgaon and the revision of the existing ones at some places in Haryana.
The fare of ordinary buses on the Chandigarh-Delhi route has been increased from Rs 135 to Rs 140, Chandigarh-Gurgaon route from Rs 155 to 165 and Chandigarh-Faridabad route from Rs 155 to Rs 160. Ruling out the possibility of any hike in the near future, K S Kalson, General Manager, Haryana Roadways, said the hike was due to an increase in certain toll taxes and not on all routes. The fare for Chandigarh-Karnal and Chandigarh-Panipat has been increased by Rs 2 each from Rs 68 to Rs 70 and Rs 90 to 92 respectively.
