The Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) is on its way to e-governance. After launching its website, the municipal agency has started keeping a computerised record of the salaries of its employees.
MCF Commissioner, R. K. Khullar, said that the municipal body is moving with the changing times. "It is the need of the hour We are bound to have e-governance as per the agreement with the Centre under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The Central government also held a meeting recently to assess the progress made by us," he said. Khullar said besides opening a website providing various records and online grievance redressal facility, the municipal corporation has also made a computerised record of its nearly 4,500 employees and the salaries are also being prepared with the help of the database.
He said that e-governance will improve efficiency and effectiveness in interaction between local government, citizens and other stakeholders like non government organisations, community based organisations, residents' welfare associations and private sectors. It will also improve the quality of internal government operations to support and stimulate good governance, he said.
