After roads, Rs 130cr Plan To Augment The Almost Non-Functional Power Distribution System In GurgaonBy yogisharma, Section Electricity
Haryana Government has finally woken up after the recent outrage over the poor condition of infrastructure in the millennium city, Gurgaon.
Consequently, on Friday (September 26), Union minister of state Rao Inderjeet Singh announced a slew of measures to improve the roads infrastructure in the city. On the same day, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) also proposed a Rs 130 crore plan to augment the almost non-functional power distribution system in the city. Under this plan, the DHBVN plans to bifurcate 40 feeders of 11 KV level, extend the existing 11 KV lines to take close to the load centre and replace the old and worn out undersized conductor on lines. Aerial bunched cable (ABC) would be used for safety, where right-of-way for overhead conductor is not available. Nigam has also proposed to convert 13 feeders of 11 KV level to High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS). While laying HVDS, complete system of the feeders, right from their emanating point to the consumers end, would be renovated and additional transformers would also be set up as per requirement. The plan includes setting up of customer care centres in Gurgaon to give single window service to the customers. The centres will be supported with the latest information technology. Energy Meters will be installed at all the distribution transformers for an accurate accounting of energy flow down the transformers. Click On "Full Story" For More...
This will give a useful data to the officials about transformers' loading and load balancing, which would help minimising problems of tripping and low voltage.
A DHBVN spokesman said that to strengthen power transmission system in Gurgaon, a transmission plan of Rs 375 crore for the current financial year is under execution, under which a 400 KV substation at Daulatabad, three new 220 KV substations at sector 56, sector 72 and sector 20 and four substations of 66 KV level at sector 15 Part-II, sector 2, sector 43 and sector 51 are being constructed. The work of augmentation of capacity of existing 220 KV substation at sector 52, 66 KV substations at Harsaru, sector 38, sector 56 and old Manesar and the construction or augmentation of 11 lines is in progress at an accelerated pace. The Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) will spend additional Rs 345 crore to construct four 220 KV substations at sector 57, sector 48 and villages Pahari and Mau and two 66 KV substations at sector 17 and sector 45 during the year 2009-10.
