The road from Palam Vihar to Sheetla Mata Mandir is in such a bad state that now even the shape of the road is not visible at all
Bad roads seem to be the fate of residents in Gurgaon. Almost everywhere in the city, residents are suffering bad condition of roads. The situation is no different on the road from Palam Vihar to Sheetla Mata Mandir. This road starts from Bajghera Village near Delhi border and crosses Palam Vihar, New Palam Vihar and Sheetla Mata Mandir. This whole stretch has developed more than one and a half feet deep trenches.

"We repeatedly wrote to the previous DC but he never bothered to take any action. The matter was brought to the notice of grievances committee too but things did not improve even then. Now we have given a memo to the new DC. We are hoping now for the things to improve," hoped Col SS Punia, president Resident Welfare Association, New Palam Vihar.

This is one of the most important roads. All the state corporation buses that go to Nazafgarh, Hissar, Rohtak, Jind, Ballabgarh and Bhatinda pass through this road.
"It is really surprising that the PWD is not taking any action to improve the condition of the road, even when they know that all the heavy vehicles pass through this road," wonders Gitanjali Sharma, a resident of Palam Vihar.
It is not just the heavy vehicles, the commuters suffer this road everyday. "Driving through this road is getting difficult by the day. The road has now become accident prone. Already several accidents have taken place here," says Rishiraj Rana, advisor to RWA New Palam Vihar.
With rains, matters have only got worse. The potholes here are flooded with rain water, that are not cleaned up for days at length, giving a tough time to commuters.
Recently PWD has started repairing the stretch. RA Hooda, executive engineer, PWD says, "Work has started for carpeting of the road near Bajghera. We are now filling the potholes with stones and other materials. Then it will be carpeted."
Hooda further says that the work would finish within a few weeks, only if there is no further rain. Well, looks like it is time to start praying!
