The Haryana Government has decided to fill up 5,943 posts of various ranks in the State Health Department to further improve its functioning, Health Minister Kartar Devi announced here on Tuesday.
She said that 2,306 of these posts would be filled up by restoring them as these were abolished by the previous Government while restructuring the department.
It has been decided to fill up 637 additional posts, which include 359 posts of Medical Officers, six posts of Senior Dental Surgeons, 30 of Dental Surgeons, 60 of Pharmacists, 66 of radiographers, 51 of ECG technicians and 65 of senior MOs. Apart from this, 3,000 posts of nurses would also be filled up in a phased manner, she added.
She said it had been decided to reorganise the Health Department in keeping with the requirements of the National Rural Health Mission . The Department had already taken several new initiatives under NRHM, she added.
She disclosed thatdoctors working in PHCs have been directed to visit different villages on the day already fixed in the Anganwadi Centres to conduct OPDs in village.
