The Results in the recent CBSE Board examination and the IIT entrance exams have proved that there is more to Faridabad than just industries.
Nitin Jain of Modern Vidya Niketan (MVN) topped in IIT and the All India Joint Engineering Entrance Exams this year. In total, 140 students from the two branches of MVN cracked the IIT entrance exam 2009. Tanvi Aggarwal of Apeejay School,Sector 15,got the first position in the Class XII CBSE.
IAS topper 2008 Mona Pruthi is also from the same school.
MVN director Varun Sharma attributes the success of his students to their hard workand the good faculty in his two schools.
"We have an alumni from IIT and the regional engineering colleges.We have been able to get 25 good teachers from Delhi migrated to Faridabad. Students from Delhi are already studying in our school, we hope to get students from Gurgaon and Noida as well after our success," he said.Realising the potential in Faridabad, Sharma opened an engineering college in Palwal last year. He is plan ning to open a management institute too.
Other visionaries also who opened engineering and management institutes in Faridabad,like Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI), Lingaya's Institute of Management and Technology, BS Anangpuria Institute, Al-Falah College of Engineering, Aravali Institute of Technologyand Education,much earlier.There are over 15 private colleges of engineering and management in undivided Faridabad district.
MREI Senior Vice Chairman, Prashant Bhalla said, ""Faridabad has a locational advantage and cultural similarity with Delhi that draws more students.
It is more cost effective compared to Noida and Gurgaon.And now,good results are making Faridabad a natural choice," he said.MREI was the first engineering college in the district and now it has become a deemed university.
