Gurgaon will get inter-city as well as intra-city bus service before the commencement of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi this year. The Haryana government is finalising the details of the service, which will be based on the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
This was stated by the Gurgaon deputy commissioner, Rajender Kataria, pointing out that the inter-city bus service would connect Gurgaon with New Delhi and Faridabad. The buses as well as the bus-stands for the city bus service would be fitted with GPS system.
Interacting with newsmen, here, today, Kataria said a consultant had been appointed to finalise the routes of the bus service, adding that efforts would be made to link the workplaces and Metro stations with residential areas.
The DC and his wife Kalpana Kataria, an IRS officer, also planted saplings on the premises of the office of SDM (South Gurgaon).
Kataria, who has been appointed the nodal officer for tourism-related activities in the NCR belt of Haryana in view of the Commonwealth Games, said emphasis would be laid on beautification of Gurgaon before the Games.
