Gurgaon Will Have A High Level Strict Security Cover During The Commonwealth Games- 2010By Ni3, Section Gurgaon Police
Gurgaon will have a high level strict security cover both at the shooting range and the city during the Commonwealth Games- 2010.
This was disclosed in a meeting held by Joint Police Commissioner, Gurgaon, Mr Alok Mittal with officers of National Institute of Disaster Management and nodal officers of different departments, appointed for managing the security during Commonwealth Games, in Gurgaon today to review the security arrangements. All the departments were directed to chalk out a Disaster Management Plan for the Commonwealth Games. It was disclosed in the meeting that strict security arrangements would be made in the entire city besides the shooting range where the event would be held. All the malls, markets, hotels, guest houses and metro stations of the city would be covered under security arrangements. A mock drill would also be conducted before the event to ensure the availability of resources and the complete information about Emergency Response Plan. The mock drill would help in increasing the resources according to the need and also change in the plan suitable to the situation. The Joint Police Commissioner urged the officials of National Institute of Disaster Management to guide the nodal officers in chalking out the Disaster Management Plan. He directed the Civil Surgeon Dr Praveen Garg to present the same in the next meeting. The plan should comprise of information related to hospitals, number of physicians, beds and ambulances and other facilities available in the hospitals besides the information about other big private hospitals situated at Gurgaon. The Central Reserve Police Force officials informed that a four bedded hospital had been set up at the ground and four physicians had been deputed at the hospital. Arrangement of four ambulances had also been made at the shooting range area. He said that sufficient arrangement for drinking water and for the refilling of fire tenders had been made. The next security review meeting would be held at shooting range of Central Reserve Police Force on July 16 and all the nodal officers had been asked to bring the Disaster Management Plan. They had also been advised to bring the map of the area.
The Deputy Police Commissioner, West, Mr. Vikas Arora, representatives of National Institute of Disaster Management, Central Reserve Police Force, Organizing Committee, NSG, Health Department and private hospitals attended the meeting.
